Posted Dec 30, 2009. Filed under Wordpress.

I've just released the free WordPress theme: Halftone. It's a clean, blue and grey theme with halftone patterns, designed for over-sized logos.

Features

  • Theme options page
  • W3C XHTML validated
  • Cross browser compatible
  • Widget ready
  • Dynamic dropdown navigation menu
  • Two column layout

How to add your own logo

It's simple to add your own logo to the header of this theme. Here's how:

  • In WP Admin, go to Media, then click Add New
  • Browse for the file on your computer, and then upload it. The maximum image size for this theme's header is 380 x 250 (px)
  • Once finished, highlight and then copy the File URL field.
  • Under the Appearance menu, click on Halftone Options
  • In here you'll see a field for Logo URL. Paste our copied File URL here, and save.

That's it! Refresh your blog's homepage and you'll see the new logo.

Download and Preview

This theme is now hosted on the WordPress themes directory, so head over to http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/halftone for the preview and download link!

Using this theme on your site? Have a problem or suggestion? Let me know in the comments!

Hi Dan,

your theme rocks, i love it!

I'm trying to link from the thumb-image to an article, like you do on your site (http://designelemental.net/blog). I'm using a custom field "thumb", which shows an image for an article. Can you help me?

just recently switched my theme to this one. really liking it more than previous themes i've used. i was wondering if there was a way to use different fonts in the titles of my post, and if there's a way to use a background image in the very top gray header. if you'll visit my site, you'll see i've got an image of downtown cincinnati which i was hoping to replace in the top gray header. if there's not its no problem. i also really like the simpleness of the sidebar, something i've had problems with on most other themes. thanks!
